New to racing

Hi, you only have to know very little about me to realise I'm a gaming-addicted, multi-platform, all-genre whore.

So, I recently got addicted to racing games (never ever ever liked them) when I picked up GRiD (which had been languishing on my hard drive since I bought it on its release). Then came GTA 5p where for the first time ever I used manual gears in a racer..

so now I'm fully hooked.

I luvz the OzF (I chip in for rent on your arma2 server) and I saw you were all playing this three year old racer... so I thought I'd give it a go! GRiD and GTR5 both suck online and I need something to keep me going 'til my copy of NFS Shift shows up.


What's the deal chaps... is it easy to join a game online?
Do you have a server?
What are some essential things I should consider before starting?
Does it support my wireless 360 controller?

Okay, joining online was a nightmare... the ping sorter is bullshit, no way they are Australian servers.

Couple of questions;

* what's the best server to play on?
* a clanmate tells me you have to pay for skins, tracks and cars.. is that true? (Internode has heaps here: http://games.on.net/filelist.php?app=815&menu=2... and by the way, 'node has the full game as a file for download, is it free? I bought it damnit!  :unsureabout)
* is it entirely online or can I set up bot-matches?


Also now downloading GTR Evolution and Race 7, wewt for OD'ing on racers!


EDIT: I can see this forum has been dead for quite some time. I'm hoping there are still some racers amongst you!
