Magnum:
I saw all the flaming, bickering, love and banter going back and forth between AOC, DDO, WOW peeps earlier in the week and kept out of it :)
Each to their own i say...
But this morning i logged on and i see the forums heading changed from AOC forums to General MMOrpg forum. .Very nice touch Mont :P
And Thanks.
So..
Here is the first offical DDO thread WOOT !!! (bring on the flamage)
Im not gunna rant and rave and say who needs to play what or one is better than the other as they all have their own good and bad tick boxes.
So if anyone is interested or currently playing DDO online. you can look up Me, Deval, Misterbizz and Wraithblade and we will look after you.
Now for some useless information..
Cost is $14.99 per month USD subs.. or playing card thingys if you do it that way.
World we are on THELANIS
Guild HEAVENS FURY (Deval is guild leader)
Characters i have.. .well i have been playing since jsut after release so have 9 currently :)
Franzjoseph Uluru Lvl 16 Dwarven Cleric
Morpheene Shot Lvl 16 Drow Elf Cleric
Antibiotic Lvl 16 Human Cleric
Stonecarver Mchammertime Lvl 16 Dwarven Fighter
Playful Rockgod Lvl 16 Drow Elf Bard
Kerosene Lvl 16 Drow Elf Sorcerer
Destrier lvl 16 Drow Elf Paladin
Kritical Hit lvl 16 Halfling Ranger
Khroens Lvl 10 Drow Elf .. 1lvl rogue/9 lvl Wizard
As you can see i am a bit of a pure blood enthusiast.. Khroens is my only multiclass atm.
In DDO you can multiclass upto 3 different character type which makes for some very interesting character builds out there.
DDO does have a PVP content but its such a small part of the game in the pubs/taverns you can bash it out against whomever is in there if that flaots your boat. It is certainly created more around the dungeon (inside or out) adventures (6man) or raids (12 man) and the socail community it builds from the team work and classes sometimes required to complete these quests.
So those that enjoy the open PVP of AOC or WOW would not likely enjoy DDO. Those that enjoy puzzle solving, questing using all your teams skillz and in some cases raids that chew up 1.5hours of real time then you may like DDO.
*side note.. some peeps think 1.5hours+ to do a quest is too long, but from a pen and paper ddo background (if thats where u come) you would have been used to spending whole weekends stuck in your mates shed, hyped up on JOLT, abusing the dungeon master for spawning that gold dragon behind you. :)
Anyway. .thats my BLurb.

:thumbsdown3
Deval:
NICE WORK ON THE THREAD :awe :awe :awe
Yes I lead the guild Heaven's Fury on the Thelanis server and Magnum is 2IC
Current toons
Deval 16th level Paladin
Raydin 16th level Sorcerer
Vampiric 11 fighter, 3 paladin and 2 rogue
Banshee 8 fighter, 6 ranger and 2 rogue
Valakai 9th level monk
You dont get a ridiculous amount of easy levels like other mmo's, you gotta earn your xp and the personalisation of the toons is fantastic!!!!!!
Montah:
loved the paper version, played for 20 years plus in a sweaty garage :shiner. got turned off the online game by the demo ? for this game.
might look into it in the coming weeks/months :awe
